LATIN AMERICAN WOMAN IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Last mile
Our vision
We aim to build a virtuous circle for women leaders that enhances education and economic development in science and technology in our region.
The challenge
21%
of the capital invested in the region in startups and scaleups in 2022 was allocated to companies co-founded by women (BID Lab and Endeavor). Globally, 77% of technology companies are founded by men.
32%
of keynote speakers at science conferences are women, representing 38% of total speakers (PLOS ONE). However, there is no data about this problem, and in-person participation is not explicitly mentioned.
There are economic, attendance, and cultural barriers affecting and limiting the career development and full participation in scientific and technological ecosystems of women with caregiving responsibilities at a critical moment in their growth and positioning.

-
Enhance the representation of Latin American women leaders and entrepreneurs in Science and Technology, in globally influential spaces.
-
Generate data and evidence, better understand the problem; promote solutions and promotional campaigns.
-
Build a community and encourage future women leaders through a development platform focused on assistance.
-
Enrich the productive and technological sectors of Latin American countries by promoting these talent profiles.
